Elle in Littlehampton

The day was incredibly hot. Having arrived early the café was closed and so was the nearby snack van, crazy. Elle arrived and we had a brief chat and got on with our shoot. The first part, as arranged was dance orientated. Despite the café being closed it did make a great backdrop. Even though it was early evening the light was very strong and direct which makes for tricky exposure with the camera. We moved on to the amphitheatre for some drama and a few jump shots. Elle being a dancer knew exactly what to do. What I like about dance shots outside is the lack of restriction with regard to space. It was then to the beach and try to avoid the crowds still there. We managed well with some atmospheric shots with which I created interesting Black and White images.

The Dance of Elesha

The race against impending lockdown was on. My tiny house where I shoot was not suitable for dance photography the way I wanted to achieve it. So this meant travelling to a large studio space. Inspire Studios in Salisbury was the destination. It is Elesha's favourite studio. We were lucky. I didn't intend to spend all day on dance shots. That would have been exhausting for both of us. So we went through aspects of dance from static poses to ariel leaps using ribbons, scarves and dance apparel. I think it will be an event ever in my head. The experience of first time dramatic dance with a very special friend, Elesha. Just enjoy the combined arts of dance and photography.
