Artemis! The Newspaper Job

On arriving back at studio after a successful location shoot it was time to try out my latest idea. I had covered the backdrop with pages of the Financial Times. Chosen due to the nature of it's colour. It was a bit of a race against time but with someone as experienced as Artemis we worked on smoothly with plenty of conversation. Lighting changes were made with emphasis on creativity and we really got some interesting images. It was time to finish and we were both pleased with results. A busy but productive day.

Efflectum Reflections

When it comes to doing something different then I am always up and eager. When messaging Effectum on Twitter we decided to work together. Being an Alternative Model she is far away from my usual subjects. We sorted our location and on meeting up walked to our chosen place which was a World War Two Machine Gun emplacement. We set about the grungy place with very low light but boosting ISO and relying on Image Stabiliser lens we got to task with some edgy images. Unfortunately we were plagued by passers-by and cut short our stay. Not being happy with the length of shoot we got in the car to search for another location. An Oilseed Rape field attracted us so we stopped. Even better was the abandoned shed with it's switches and cupboards. Happy there we moved to the field. Effectum and I were very happy with the outcome of our day and settled at a pub to review the unedited results. Efflectum was great to work with and very open to ideas adding her own pleasingly for a great shoot.

Portia Latex etc.

When it comes to dedication and passion you have to sacrifice time to get what you want. Portia is one of those people who has drive and energy to succeed. I think this is the furthest any model has come to work with me. It puts to shame the models living locally who cancel at the drop of a hat. Not only did Portia come all the way from Liverpool but she made her way across London to borrow clothes from a designer and then get the train to leafy Surrey.
We really did not have much time to shoot! So being organised was key including making cups of tea. Portia is infectious and very confident and with our creativity meant four outfits in two hours and it never felt rushed. Just enjoy!
