Rhodes was the second port of call. A very busy island that is popular with tourists on sunshine holidays. Like many other busy destinations, Rhodes Town was very set up to attract people into cafes, tavernas and bars. Waiters trying to guide you to their business with unfortunately inflated prices. Elesha and I steered clear. Strolling up a quiet side street it wasn't more than 100 metres up and the perfect place for lunch was found. A beautiful plant strewn courtyard with traditional Greek food at prices half of places in the main street. A relaxed time to talk was something Elesha needed and for me a lovely time to catch up with her properly. We wandered the quiet streets and alleyways with Ancient Greek and Roman artifacts everywhere. On along the promenade with views of the Resilient Lady ship and then to ancient ramparts. Just a few hours was probably not enough time to appreciate Rhodes Town. Perhaps a taster for another time.
